As the roar of a Cadillac CTS-V echoes through the streets, we catch up with V1.Moore, a pioneering woman whose love for cars is as undeniable as her skills behind the wheel. Today's journey takes us from the nostalgic influence of her grandfather to the adrenaline-fueled world of legal car events, as V1 shares her evolution from a Mustang aficionado to a Cadillac devotee. She's not just any driver—she's making history in the US swing scene, pushing boundaries and setting pulses racing. Grappling with the challenges of being a female in a male-dominated sport, she maneuvers through jealousy and drama with the grace of a seasoned drifter, leaving her mark on the tarmac and inspiring others to chase their passions.

Amidst the symphony of revving engines, we celebrate the diversity of the local car crews, where SRTs and Challengers reign supreme yet Cadillacs and G8s carve their own path. We reminisce about the legends who've left their tire tracks on our hearts, now vanished from the limelight, and pledge to keep their stories alive. This episode isn't just about horsepower and high speeds—it's a glimpse into the life of a dedicated female driver, balancing the thrills of the chase with the warmth of family during holidays, and dreaming of coast-to-coast car scene explorations. Strap in for an exhilarating ride as we revel in the plans for an LS engine swap and the balletic precision of an angle kit, promising to bring a fresh wave of joy to the scene. With a heartfelt thanks to V1, we shift into neutral, already eager for the next time we reconnect on this automotive odyssey.

You know Respectfully, I think she the only lady in a CTS V and she beholden her shit. So we about to get into this. Hello yo yo this the floors.

Speaker 2:

Call me. No color ID.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I'll be happy to keep my identity secret, because everybody I feel, it everybody be trying to you know. Yeah how you feeling today.

Speaker 2:

Good, how are you?

Speaker 1:

I'm doing great.

Speaker 2:

Awesome.

Speaker 1:

I'm gonna get right into it, man cuz I know I know you busy and yeah, let's get to it. Being being a legendary V1. More gotta be Insane, cuz. First off, if I'm not mistaken, you the only female swing up In the in the whole us In a V, or at least that I seen.

Speaker 2:

In a Cadillac. Yeah, I'd say in a Cadillac, correct?

Speaker 1:

in a V for sure. Yes, sir holding this shit down.

Speaker 2:

Have been for years.

Speaker 1:

So how did you? How did you get on the scene?

Speaker 2:

Well, my grandpa always grew me up in the cars, so I've always really been in the cars. But when I ended up moving into the Bay Area, I started meeting people and and it just took my heart away, and ever since I started driving I haven't stopped it.

Speaker 1:

Okay, so. So so you not initially from the Bay, you move to the Bay where you initially correct, it's a small town.

Speaker 2:

It's kind of by Chico. I don't know if you're aware where that's by Chico, redding area.

Speaker 1:

Okay, so so you originally are from Cali, though you just happened to move one spot in Cali to the Bay got it correct. That's what's up.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, thank you.

Speaker 1:

So how long have you been going to legal pits? Because I I seen you in more racks going crazy.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I didn't start at legal pits. Obviously, everybody starts in the street but I'd say around 2017 is when I started going to. Oh no, 2018, when I got my Mustang, is when I started going to legally then.

Speaker 1:

Okay, so you had a Mustang pride to the V. What I did. How many cars have you had?

Speaker 2:

I just had my Mustang in my Cadillac.

Speaker 1:

Okay.

Speaker 2:

Yeah okay. I'm kind of just stuck with the Cadillac yeah.

Speaker 1:

Do you enjoy legal events more than the street scene?

Speaker 2:

Um, it's not the same as it used to be. I used to love the streets, but it's not the same, so I'd say I do enjoy legally, vinsmore.

Speaker 1:

Okay, so how long have you been on the scene? I've been driving since 2016 2016, okay, so you bet you've been active for a minute now. You got some years in this shit. Yeah real OG in the game. I would say so so, man, how was it? How was it? Tandem in with more acts?

Speaker 2:

It was cool. He's a good driver. He's lucky my axle boat about coming for him.

Speaker 1:

You say you was coming for.

Speaker 2:

I was, I was third, it was him, and then I forgot the other guy's name. He drives the the Z. Why can't I think of his name? He had a rap on his car, but it was us three at the end it was me, more apps and then him. I think his name's Yamir, maybe, if I'm correct.

Speaker 1:

Okay, I'm gonna look into him.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Say, say. If it wasn't for your axle breaking, you'd have been taking home the pot.

Speaker 2:

I'm not gonna say that, but I would have put on more of a fight.

Speaker 1:

You would have put on more of a fight, okay.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I wasn't giving up.

Speaker 1:

Hey, I'm wrong with that. So, since you've been on the scene, what are some of the pros and cons of being a Female in a dominant male sport?

Speaker 2:

There's always gonna be haters, and I feel like more or less, it's girls that are either trying to be where I'm at or it's you know, guys do give girls attention when they're driving, you know. So I feel like a lot of there's a lot of spiteful women in this world that are insecure for show For show.

Speaker 1:

That's something I had to ask, because I see a lot of catty this inside of our own scene here in Chicago.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

It's mostly with the women.

Speaker 2:

A lot of the car scene drama is that would be the same for the Bay as to you guys in Chicago as well. Okay, so, so probably more a lot of like than you guys would would think yeah.

Speaker 1:

Yes, it's everywhere. But the baby holding shit down for them 50 years? A lot of people don't know they is crazy a lot of people don't know that the takeover has been going on in the Bay since the 80s like, that's where it all started like and Just imagine having a motherfucking from the 80s in a motherfucking Old-school box Chevy or something doing the crazy shit we see being done now like. Yeah, yeah that's hatchbacks, mustangs and shit.

Speaker 2:

I've noticed out there they got a lot of SRT's and challengers. I don't see a lot of like G8, I don't see the ones. I've seen a few Cadillacs v2s, but it's mostly like one one kind of car out there.

Speaker 1:

I've noticed it's a lot of. So the SRT's are the prominent force at the moment, but the V-Boys in the city they put on it's a crew and they all got these.

Speaker 2:

I followed them. Yeah, they're hard.

Speaker 1:

But it's a lot of like we gotta shout out to the Get Back Boys. Most of they guys got infinities or something and they do their shit. You know what I'm saying. We got a couple meatas on the scene. It's a lot of different cars, but they don't get as much recognition as the SRTs would.

Speaker 2:

I'd love to come out there. That's one of my goals is to come to Chicago and experience the car life there.

Speaker 1:

Man, whenever you do, just know we gotta get you on the rollback show for a live interview, cause that'll be dope as hell.

Speaker 2:

That'll be cool. I'm down.

Speaker 1:

And we gonna take you to all the hot spots. I'm gonna make sure that happen.

Speaker 2:

And the food spots right.

Speaker 1:

Of course. Of course gotta take you to eat. If you could pick three of your favorite sliders since you've been on the scene, it don't matter if they present pass anything Like. Who would your top three sliders be?

Speaker 2:

That's a hard one. A lot of them are retired and you're not gonna know who they are if I tell you.

Speaker 1:

If you tell me I could go do my research.

Speaker 2:

I might have to pass on that question, cause everybody's retired. Some of them don't even have Instagrams no more. When I first started this shit, there was a lot of good drivers and things slowly slowly changed and they stopped coming out, so they don't even have Instagrams or nothing like that.

Speaker 1:

Trust me, if there's a way for me to find it, there's a way for me to find it. We scour. We got a dedicated team to scour the internet for footage of people like we, because this podcast is more than just a takeover podcast. It's about car culture in general. You know what I'm saying. Like, a lot of people don't know that Chicago had a car scene, a very prominent car scene, before the takeovers even became a thing, here and a lot of people don't know that.

Speaker 1:

So we like. We like this is like history class. We like taking people on history and going to find information and finding people to do interviews with. So the more knowledge you give us, the better, cause we ain't gonna do nothing but do our homework behind it. Whether they got an Instagram or not, it's some footage somewhere about them. Yeah, you know what I'm saying it's somewhere for me to find them.

Speaker 2:

The internet. You can find anything on it.

Speaker 1:

Facts. You can find anything on the internet. Out of all the legal pits you've been to, what's been your favorite.

Speaker 2:

I have to say Carvana's truck event in Thunder Hill.

Speaker 1:

Carvana's truck event in Thunder Hill. I've never heard of it. I bet you I'ma know more about it the next time I talk to you?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I think that. Actually I'm not sure, but I'm pretty positive that was their first event with a doughnut pit. Yeah, that's lit For LS Fest. I really do enjoy LS Fest and that's in Las Vegas.

Speaker 1:

LS Fest in Las Vegas. Okay, what time of the year is that is LS Fest around same time?

Speaker 2:

Cause I'd usually go to same every year. Yeah, I went to SEMA last year. I didn't go this year, but it's, sema was last month and then LS Fest is gonna be in April.

Speaker 1:

LS Fest is in April. Okay, but Correct, Best believe. The rollback show will be at LS Fest in April.

Speaker 2:

It's a good event to go to. I highly recommend it. I know it's far for you guys, but LS Fest is pretty dope. It's legal, it has hollies there. A whole bunch of people are there.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I mean, it don't matter the distance. We got planes. I'm actually going to top this Saturday.

Speaker 2:

Oh you are. I was supposed to go.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

I decided to sit back for this one, just to make sure that you know I could spend time with my daughter for this Christmas holiday.

Speaker 1:

Ain't nothing wrong with that. Family is indeed the most important thing.

Speaker 2:

That's the most important yeah, what is?

Speaker 1:

how many states have you been to with the car scene? How many different states have you been to with the car scene?

Speaker 2:

Texas is not considered a different state, but just no, I'm sorry, texas is considered a different state. I was thinking Vegas, just them two.

Speaker 1:

Okay, so you've been to Texas and Vegas.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I haven't traveled too much.

Speaker 1:

Okay, do you plan on traveling more?

Speaker 2:

I would love to. Yeah, and just you know time and money.

Speaker 1:

Facts that mean you gotta motherfucking put your name out there.

Speaker 2:

So, motherfuckers, to get them sponsors. You got two cars. I can't stop breaking.

Speaker 1:

Hey, shit, you gotta. Hey, it's a part of the game. You break, you fix. You do this shit all over again. If we didn't have such expensive hobbies, I'd probably be rich Facts so being a female in the game and beating this shit out of your cars, breaking them, fixing them the happiness that you get from this shit is it worth it.

Speaker 2:

Most definitely. I mean, sometimes it gets frustrating. You know, obviously it's always gonna get frustrating, but the end result is always a smile on my face, so that's what matters. Okay, that's what I love A lot of people would have gave this up by now, but it's hard for me to let go of something that I love so much.

Speaker 1:

Man.

Speaker 2:

So I just keep pushing and striving.

Speaker 1:

Man, cause all the bull shit would definitely make you be like man, I'm gonna knock all this shit over.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, sometimes I wanna give up. I mean, everybody does, but you just gotta keep pushing.

Speaker 1:

Keep pushing. The more you push, the better you go.

Speaker 2:

Exactly.

Speaker 1:

So how old are you?

Speaker 2:

I'm 29.

Speaker 1:

Okay, and you've been on the scene almost 10 years 10, 2006, yep.

Speaker 2:

No wait, 2006. Yeah, 2006.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

I've had like times where I took breaks, like when I had my daughter. I took like a year and a half breaks, you know. So it hasn't always been driving. My V1 was down for a half a year at one point, so that's just how long I'm, you know, being a part of the car scene.

Speaker 1:

Okay, I mean, but shit to be a part is to be a part. Whether you on hiatus or not, you still a part of it. You know what I'm saying there's gonna be times like before I started the podcast, I took a. I took almost a year off from the scene and in Chicago like I ended up starting the podcast so I could be back a part of the scene without being directly involved, if that makes sense yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1:

Because a lot of people in this shit they be envious and they be spiteful and they be on some weird shit and I'm the type of person and. I'll give you everything I got if I fuck with you. And I try to show everybody love, but the scene don't allow you to do that.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, the scene is not the same. Everybody is in it for themselves.

Speaker 1:

Facts.

Speaker 2:

There ain't no love outside.

Speaker 1:

Ain't no love outside.

Speaker 2:

Your calling is gonna figure out who really fucks with you.

Speaker 1:

No, that's for real. When the shit hit the fan, you gonna find out. So when you was in the streets, how long were you in the streets for? Or did you switch gears kinda quickly from?

Speaker 2:

the streets to the legal even. Yeah, it was like a two month process. I started trying to take myself seriously and if I'm not taking myself seriously, then nobody else is gonna take me seriously. I had to step it up a notch and I started reaching out to people and making connections and getting sponsorship. And you know, serious hard head people don't like the streets. So it's either the choice that you make some of yourself and you go somewhere with this car shit or you remain in the street getting 30 days Facts. So I decided to make that change.

Speaker 1:

Well, that's what's up. Well, I fucking going to get them sponsorships staying up out the streets.

Speaker 2:

And it's been like a hard process is not like cause everyone's like put me on, like how did you do that? Like it's none of this was overnight. You know what I'm saying? I worked hard hours, long blood, sweat and tears for this, so and that's what's up. And that's what's ever just handed to me, you know.

Speaker 1:

And that's what a lot of people don't understand that this shit is bigger than then. It take a lot to take this shit legal. You got a month.

Speaker 2:

I've been doing this for years and now I'm just now getting recognized. You know what I'm saying?

Speaker 1:

Like it's just, you don't just wake up and you want to know what's crazy from the moment I discovered takeovers. You were one of the people that I seen early on, so that's why it's an honor to have you on this interview.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I appreciate it.

Speaker 1:

Because I'm like, gee, that's a woman in a V, like what the fuck is going on, bro, like she getting busy, like so.

Speaker 2:

I drive the hell out of that car.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I don't see no baby in it.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, that car, I don't know how she's still running.

Speaker 1:

She is. She's a fighter like, like the job.

Speaker 2:

You champ. No girl, she's a champ Like I really drive the hell out of that car If I always break my asses like I. Really I need to step up my suspension.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, get some reinforced steel or some shit so you ain't breaking them axle. So much I'm thin. Motherfucking. Um, if, if you could pick any year to relive again, what year would it be? In the car, in the car world?

Speaker 2:

Probably 2023, okay.

Speaker 1:

Probably 2020, no.

Speaker 2:

I'm sorry. I'm sorry, no 2022 2022, okay. Yep, that's when I started reaching out to my sponsors and taking things seriously. I got to go to the same mother year. I went to LS Fest right after my car did great, I didn't have it breaking on me.

Speaker 1:

That's a beauty. If, if you could, if you could Pick any car to drive In a competition, what would it be, outside of anything you've drove, driven now?

Speaker 2:

Like a car from that. I want that. I want to start driving.

Speaker 1:

That it could be a car that you want to start driving, something that you could see yourself in, that you haven't already.

Speaker 2:

Oh, I want to get myself a 240 LS.

Speaker 1:

Okay.

Speaker 2:

Nissan 240.

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah, that's gonna be fun. I can't wait to see LS.

Speaker 2:

Swap it with some angle kit. Call it a day.

Speaker 1:

That's. That's gonna be fun. I can't wait to see.

Speaker 2:

That's what I want.

Speaker 1:

Can't wait to see it. I ain't gonna hold you too long. We're gonna have to tap in. We locked in. Because I know, I know you're busy and I Want to make sure that that we ain't taking up too much of your time. But we gonna get you on for a part two and I'm gonna have some more in-depth questions for you, cuz.

Speaker 2:

It's good, and whenever I come out there I'll tap in for show for show, let's do it.

Speaker 1:

Just the rollback showing we rolling out. It was good talking to you. V1 more.

Speaker 2:
